Riesling

The Moselle region is particularly known for its Riesling variety, which makes up 60% of its total vineyard area. The Moselle’s slopes offer the optimal growing conditions for this slow-ripening grape variety. Riesling prefers warm, south-facing steep slopes and easily warmed, dry clay slate soils . And that is exactly what you will find along the entire Moselle valley.

We love our Rieslings. Due to the long maturation period, the Mosel Rieslings develop a unique fruitybouquet with a rich minerality and a pleasant fruit acidity

Müller-Thurgau . Rivaner

The name Müller-Thurgau comes from its grower Professor Herrmann Müller, who lived in the Swiss canton of Thurgau.

For a long time it was assumed that Müller-Thurgau was created from the Riesling and Silvaner grape varieties. This gave rise to the synonym Rivaner . Later genetic studies showed, however, that Müller-Thurgau is a hybrid between Riesling and Madeleine royal , but the name "Rivaner" has stuck and we therefore use it too.

The grape variety has few location requirements and is therefore mostly found in valley-floors . Rivaner wines are easy-drinking, low-acidityfloral wines that have a fine, fruity muscat aroma .

Muscaris

A vine of the future ! The Muscaris grape variety is a hybrid between Solaris and Gelber Muskatteller. It is one of the “Piwis” - fungus-resistant grape varieties - and thus possesses a strong resistance to the most common fungi in viticulture, Peronospora and Oidium.

The first planting of the grape variety in our company in 2022 follows our sustainability concept , as it allows us to use less plant protection due to the natural fungal resistance of the grape variety.

Muscaris wines have a strong fruity aroma and a gentle acidity, which means that both components harmonize wonderfully. The grape itself can produce very intense ripe, bright and even exotic fruit aromas , which is why it is also very suitable as a fruity cuvée partner.

The first wine produced in our company is now available for purchase in 2025. We ourselves are very excited to see how this project develops!

Kerner

This grape variety has become rare in Germany. However, we love the aromatic fruitiness of the grapes and therefore remain loyal to the Kerner. Even though the leaf work is very labor-intensive, as its shoots grow wide rather than tall, the Kerner rewards us with high must weights (high natural fruit sugar) at the time of harvest.

We leave most of the Kerner's natural fruit sugar in the finished product , so that it is only available as a sweet wine. This allows the aromas such as pear, orange jam, apricot and often a light nutmeg note to develop particularly well.

Cabernet Jura

A vine of the future ! The Cabernet Jura grape variety is a hybrid between Medina and Kaberne Severnyi and was created in the canton of Jura in Switzerland by Valentin Blattner. Originally a hybrid between Cabernet Sauvignon and an unknown resistance partners was described.

Since the berries are covered by a uniform, natural layer of wax, they are very resistant to botrytis and peronospora. A special feature of the berries is that they shrink at around 100°Oe. This indicates that they are at their maximum ripeness and therefore the optimal time for harvesting.

The wine itself has a dark ruby red colour and shows an aromatic combination of fruity aromas of wild berries , blackberries and cassis as well as a fine nutmeg and rose aromas.

We planted Cabernet Jura in 2023 and are excited to share what the first harvest has developed into.

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir prefers warm, loose and deep soils. Healthy , ripe grapes with a dark blue color are crucial for high-quality red wines . Pinot Noir red wines are ruby red , full-bodied and fruity with aromas of cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant.

Our Rosé and Blanc de Noir wines are also made from Pinot Noir grapes. The Rosé impresses with its lively salmon colour and elegant fruitiness – the perfect summer wine.

The Blanc de Noir is made from red grapes, but it’s classified as a white wine because the grapes are pressed immediately after harvesting, so the red color from the skin does not transfer into the fruit juice. Only nuances of red remain in the wine. Biological acid reduction makes it soft and full-bodied.

Dornfelder

The Dornfelder requires fertile soils in wind-protected locations and appropriate pruning to counteract the high fertility to reduce yield and to increase quality. The large , juicy grapes ripen very early and are dark blue to violet. The wine also has a deep dark red color.

Dornfelder wines are full-bodied, long-lasting and have aromas of ripe cherries , blackberries or elderberries . On top of that, Dornfelder impresses with its balanced and pleasant tannin structure.
